SSC CGL Vacancy 2018

The recruitment notification for SSC CGL 2018 has been released by Staff Selection Committee of India.The online application of SSC CGL 2018 will begin from April 2018 to May 2018. Tier-I exam of SSC CGL has been conducted on July 2018 to August 2018.

 

According to the notification from Staff Selection, Approximately, 9000 vacancies to be filled in SSC CGL 2018 exam, it’s obvious to clear the examination, you need to start  preparing months before the exam dates. Candidates needs to visit the site regularly for further updates from Staff Selection Commission of India.

 

Staff Selection Commission or SSC has been one of the most desirable organizations for Government exams in India. It conducts Combined Graduate Level - SSC CGL exam every year for recruitment to non-technical Group ‘B’ and Group ‘C’ non gazetted posts in various Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations of the Government of India.

 

Eligibility Criteria For SSC CGL 2018:

 

As the SSC CGL stands for Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level, the exam is for those who are possessing Graduate degree in one of the stream from recognized university or institute.

SSC CGL 2018 Age Limit:

 

SSC had recently made changes in the maximum age limit, has notified that upper age limit will be 30 years and minimum age is the same as 20 years.

 

SSC CGL 2018 Exam Pattern

 

Every year SSC carried out CGL (Combined Graduate Level) in four tiers to fill up the various posts.

 

Tier-I Exam is CBT (Computer based Test) consist of Objective Multiple Choice questions.

 

Tier-II Exam is also a CBT (Computer based Test) encompassing the Objective Multiple Choice same as Tier-I examination.

 

Tier-III Exam is considered to be the lengthy step of SSC CGL examination which is descriptive and the mode of the exam will be written i.e; pen and paper mode.

 

Tier-IV Exam is Skill Test/Computer Proficiency Test.

 

Syllabus for the Tier I Exam

 

Tier 1 is a multi choice objective exam which will be held online. It will have 4 sections in Tier 1 exam of SSC CGL 2018, with 100 questions. Each question will carry 2 marks which makes a total of 200 marks. Here is the subject-wise bifurcation of 4 sections.

 

Tier I Exam will be online exam comprising multi choice question on 

General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, English Comprehension and General Intelligence and Reasoning. 25 question from each section carrying 50 marks. Total of 100 questions for 200 marks within 80 minutes.

 

Important Points:

 

SSC CGL 2018 Tier 1 Exam will have negative marking. One wrong answer to a question will deduct 0.5 marks from the total of all sections.

For visually handicapped the exam duration is 100 minutes.

Paper 1) Quantitative Abilities

Paper 2) English Language and Comprehension

Important Points:    

 

  1. Paper-1 and Paper-2 are compulsory for all posts   
  2. Paper-3 is only for the post of “Statistical Investigator Gr. II” & “Compiler”
  3. Paper-4 is only for the post of “Assistant Audit Officer”    
  4. There will be negative marking in SSC CGL 2018 Tier 2 exam.    
  5. One wrong answer to a question will deduct 0.5 marks in Paper-1,3,4 and 0.25 marks in Paper-2.
  6. Level for Paper 1 Questions will be of 10th standard l, Paper-2 of 10+2 level and Paper-3 & 4 on graduation level.    
  7. The computer will be made available by the Commission at the Centre/venue allocated for the exam
  8. The duration of the exam is 2 Hours and 40 Minutes for candidates who are visually handicapped.

 

 

SSC CGL Tier III Exam Syllabus

This is a descriptive exam with the purpose of testing the written skills of the candidates in English/Hindi. It is held offline. The candidates are required to write Essay/Letter/Application. In order to prepare for this section one needs to read lots of articles from various newspapers and magazines. Besides this, you need to be well-versed with the latest pattern of Letter and Application.

 

Important Points: 

 

  1. The duration of this exam is of 60 minutes and carries 100 marks.
  2. 10+2 level questions are asked in this exam.
  3. It is a qualifying exam.
  4. The duration of the exam duration 80 minutes for candidates who are visually handicapped or suffering from cerebral palsy.
